A beautiful, original hotel located in the heart of Barahona, in a Creole house painted red and white. The exotic decor gives you the pleasant feeling of being on a faraway island. The rooms are clean and simple, and open onto an interior patio where you can relax on hammocks. The Italian owner, Mamerto, is very friendly, as is the main host, Junior. Hotel recommended for small budgets and for one night maximum. Although the small family home offers a charming welcome and clean rooms, the residence and facilities are starting to look old. So don't expect too much comfort or luxury at Las Magnolias. Its location, right in the center of Barahona, and its price, however, make it an option to consider if you want to save money. No on-site breakfast, but a cafecito on the first floor will get your day off to a good start.

This 3 star hotel is located in a nice little modern building facing the sea, about three minutes from the beach. It offers about 30 rooms with Caribbean blue walls, comfortable bedding, air conditioning, bathroom with hot water, television and WiFi. Outside, the hotel has a small terrace for sunbathing and enjoying the hot tub. There are plenty of places to relax. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner, but the food here is not exceptional. Helpful staff.

Built directly on the beach, this pretty white building in traditional tropical style is one of the oldest in the region. The rooms are comfortable, but the equipment is starting to wear out (check that the air-conditioning works in your room). Balconies with sea or mountain views. Seen literally in the sea, wild beach, coconut and mangrove… Here no buildings to the chain but a kind of village of white houses with roof roofs with swimming pools and whirlpool, that one rent whole friends or family (up to 10 people), or in the room. The magical location of this modest hotel, perched on top of a cliff, is its main asset. It also offers two accesses to the small pebble beach located below, but other more pleasant beaches are worth the trip. The establishment which has about twenty rooms with old furniture, declined in four categories, would deserve a big blow of freshness, because the framework is charming! There is also a large swimming pool and a restaurant serving local cuisine with a focus on seafood specialities.
