The 20 km road from Bani to the fishing village of Las Salinas is in good condition. After the Las Calderas military base, this is the country's most important naval base. You continue along this road, bordered on one side by the sand dunes of Las Dunas Park and on the other by Las Calderas Bay and its oily, sometimes pinkish and mauve waters, for 4 km.The bus will turn around at the end of the village next to the church and drop you off. A smaller, less well-maintained road leads to the salt marshes and drying facilities of bygone days; further on, you'll find the grey sandy beach with a few houses and boats.
