5 km towards Punta Cana, the road passes through the small village of Otra Banda, known as the cleanest and most colorful town in the country. The town is an example of traditional Creole architecture, and the inhabitants are proud to maintain their colorful village like a jewel. Roses, greens, blues, yellows, the wooden houses compete in bright, vivid hues and contrasts. The flowers and multicolored tropical plants adorning the façades give the village a naïve decor. The Taïno Cayacoa Museum, created by an amateur archaeologist, features a collection of pottery and statuettes in stone and bone.
