In this beautiful village, typical of the Dominican countryside, the wooden houses are brightly colored and the quiet mules are more numerous than the motor vehicles. Next to the central park, we will notice the small candy pink church which contrasts nicely with the blue of the sky. The Ponce de León Museum is also worth a visit. This square house was built between 1505 and 1506 by Juan Ponce de León before he set out, in 1508, to conquer Puerto Rico(Borinquen in Indian language), then, in 1513, to discover Florida. The building is located away from the village, at the end of a 2 kilometer trail in fairly good condition.
