Travel Guide Hato Mayor

We are here in the depths of the country's countryside, in the capital of the province of the same name. Hato Mayor is a large agricultural town (about 38,000 inhabitants) surrounded by gently rolling green hills. There is, however, a downtown area between Calle Duarte and Calle San Antonio, where a few inexpensive hotels are located, notably El Hato Mayor (Calle Duarte) and El Centenario. Some simple and tasty restaurants, such as El Criollo or El Centenario (in the eponymous hotel), will allow you to recover your strength. You can visit the municipal park of Mercedes de la Rocha, flanked by the parish church.
