Originally deserted, this magnificent beach was originally frequented by American diplomats, hence its name. Generally quiet, it's ideal for travelers who want to avoid the crowds and touristy spots. While surfers will be delighted to ride the impressive waves that form on this beach, swimming can be difficult for the uninitiated and for children, so take care. Parking is available for around $100, and sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented for a small fee. You'll also find stalls selling drinks and snacks.
