This village is located at 1 000 m above sea level, close to the Cure de Cure-Bourse, whose simple name leaves the fate reserved for travellers, and especially for cattle, who pass through it. You can now take advantage of this exceptional site and enjoy cross-country skiing and hiking. Many trails will lead you to the direction of Cantal Lead. Pailherols is also haunted by another much older legend and it is worth being the place of a pilgrimage in honour of the Virgin. The latter was brought back to the th century by a peddlers who, although lost several times, still found her hidden in the same bush. The statue of the Virgin is always in procession on the day of the pilgrimage to Notre-Dame-des-Montagnes on Sunday after August 15 th. Archaeological research has demonstrated the existence of a rich heritage - over two hundred and ninety sites. All periods are represented, and the occupation of the sector is recognized in prehistory. The most numerous and spectacular remains are those of the hamlets and houses of the Middle Ages - around the Puy de Bâne at 1 464 m altitude. At the end of May, at the beginning of June, not lacking under any pretext: the feast of traditional cheeses.
