The two towns that make up this commune of 2,500 inhabitants, Montsinéry and Tonnegrande (20 km apart), with an economy that was once essentially agricultural and forestry, seem to have suddenly entered modernity. They bear the names of the rivers that meet in the estuary of the river Cayenne. The first is a peaceful village full of character, the second is more modest and no less charming. Here, one is surprised by the vastness of the river domain and at weekends, boaters who sail up the Cayenne River in the direction of the many creeks - including the Rivière des Cascades - are legion
