This is the starting point for shuttle buses to Les Saintes and for hiking trails (Carbet Falls, Soufrière volcano, archaeological park...). Its name is linked to the three rivers that flow through it: Trou au Chien, Petit Carbet and Grande-Anse. Their source is the Soufrière massif, whose fertile volcanic soil encouraged French colonists to settle here. From the first half of the 17th century onwards, the town was a vacation spot for the Creole bourgeoisie, who took advantage of its hot springs. The economy was based on the cultivation of coffee, vanilla, cocoa and sugar cane. Today, bananas are grown here.
