Goyave had up to ten sugar factories, a textile factory and a brewery in the 18th century. The last distillery closed its doors in 1970. Today, its economic activity is based on banana production, aquaculture, fishing and tourism. Many vestiges of its past are to be discovered between ruins of distilleries, old houses, a bridge of Eiffel style, an aqueduct... From the heights, several tracks are the starting point of beautiful hikes in the heart of the dense and humid forest with access to the blue basin, the Moreau waterfall and Bradford, less famous, but just as superb
