Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves is one of the village resorts in the Les Sybelles ski area. Nestled at an altitude of 1,600 metres, at the foot of the Croix-de-Fer pass, this village has preserved its traditional charm. If you opt for the Balcons de Saint-Sorlin walk, you won't be disappointed. It's a relatively short walk, with only 150 meters of ascent, and takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes. It's easy to get to, making it ideal for a family outing (but don't forget to wear shoes and bring water, as is always necessary in the mountains). At the top, your reward will be a magnificent view of the two valleys, and perhaps you'll want to visit the cheese factory on the way back.Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves' tourist history dates back to the end of the 19th century, with the development of mountaineering around the mythical Aiguilles d'Arves, three rocky peaks culminating at over 3,000 meters, as well as the glacier and the Étendard peak, which reaches 3,464 meters in altitude. After the Second World War, around 1948, tourism development accelerated with the opening of the first ski lift, La Loze, in Saint-Sorlin. Today, tourism is developing consistently in summer and winter, thanks to the Domaine des Sybelles. Cyclists aim for the Col de la Croix-de-Fer, which overlooks the village of Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves, and the region is also a starting point for beautiful hikes!
