Maurs-la-Jolie or the Little Nice of the Cantal, there's no shortage of adjectives to describe this southern Cantal commune. With an altitude of less than 500 meters, Maurs enjoys a mild, temperate climate in the heart of the Châtaigneraie region. It already sounds a little like the great Southwest, more than the Auvergne. Aveyron and Lot are not far away. The town was surrounded by ramparts, of which only a few turrets remain. Today, the Tour de Ville, a boulevard built on the moat filled in 1774, follows the almost perfect circular shape. Horse fairs are still very important here.
