The Station-Peisey station is a kind of archipelago consisting of several villages in a valley crossed by a single road (D 87). At the foot of the latter, there is Landry (800 metres above sea level), the entrance to the valley and the head-location of the eponymous commune, as well as the two main towns of Haute-Tarentaise, Love and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Peisey (1 350 metres above sea level), situated in the heart of the valley flanked by two large hamlets (Le Villaret to the west and Moulin to the south) and Nancroix (1 350 metres above sea level) offers numerous accommodations, services and shops. It was in the Nancroix part that tourism began to develop in the 1920 s, while the first French lift was built in Peisey in 1948. The municipality then takes the name Peisey-Nancroix. In 1963, the family station of Plan Peisey was created, a panoramic balcony on the valley. At 1 650 metres above sea level, it has a mix of old restored houses, small buildings and recent cottages. This is one of the first integrated stations in Savoy. There are two shopping centres, one in the Sun area, the other in the Needles district. Welcome for its calm, the station is at the end of the road and the chalets are spaced there. The Peisey station (1 600 metres above sea level) was created 1980 years later, in the s, on the edge of the forest and with a view of Mont Blanc. It is then a second-generation integrated station, with a well distributed and homogeneous set of independent residences and chalets. Its centre is a suite of small pedestrian squares where shops are located. Since then, the generic name of the valley has become Peisey-Peisey. The various sites of the station have been connected since 2004 by the Télébenne de whose trains each have six open bins, with a journey of seven minutes to reach the villages and the departure of the hikes. A free shuttle service also makes it possible to link Bourg-Saint-Maurice every day with a stop to Landry.
