On the other side of the Azergues, this superb village perched on the heights deserves all your attention. A walk on the remains of the surrounding walls, then in the narrow paved streets, will make you discover superb medieval and Renaissance houses. In the 12th century, the archbishops of Lyon had a keep built there, which was demolished in 1562 by the Baron des Adrets. The 15th century church contains a Carolingian crypt where you can see, during the Heritage Days, superb frescoes probably dating from the 8th century. On the first weekend of July, the village lives again in the Middle Ages during a great medieval festival.
