Val d'Oingt is a "new commune" bringing together Oingt, Le Bois-d'Oingt and Saint-Laurent-d'Oingt. The medieval village of Oingt is a marvel classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. The church, built in the 13th century and initially a castral chapel, was redesigned in the 19th century. A walk on the covered way, or even the ascent, for the most courageous, of the 74 steps of the dungeon, allows to embrace a magnificent landscape until the Alps. In the village, artists and craftsmen have opened workshops and shops. Le Bois-d'Oingt is another gem of the Pierres Dorées. This charming village is nicknamed "Village of roses".
