Note that the town of Saint-Andéol-le-Château merged with those of Chassagny and Saint-Jean-de-Touslas to give the new town of Beauvallon. The town has kept the structure of the villages castles of the Middle Ages since its fortification in the 12th century by Renaud de Forez. It was built around the church and the castle, symbols of the ecclesiastical and civil powers, both belonging to the chapter of Lyon. In the village you can still see, while strolling through the narrow streets, the door escutcheons - the superb Saint-Andéol door -, some walls and the traces of the ditch. Walking paths in the Clos Souchon park.
