Close to Lyon (possibility to come by tram-train from the west of Lyon from the Lyon Saint-Paul station), on a marked relief and in the middle of a preserved nature, Saint-Bel has kept its village side. In the Middle Ages, Saint-Bel was the main stronghold of the neighbouring abbey of Savigny. The village changed radically with the industrial era, when mines, foundries, weaving mills and tanneries were established. To discover this rich past, a circuit marked out with 13 interpretation panels takes us through the streets and alleys to the 12th century castle of Montbloy, the Romanesque church and the old industries.
