Mentioned as early as 976, the castle sits at the tip of a rocky spur whose wooded park follows the ridge. The castle and its surroundings were entirely restored by the architect Louis Dupasquier (1800-1870) who sought to restore a complete medieval fortress. Today the estate is made up of two parts: the park to the west and the castral complex to the east, each with its own enclosure. The castle concentrates all the elements of neo-gothic aesthetics: towers, keep, battlements, composing an architecture and decor intact since its creation.
