The village of Monsols (now part of the new municipality of Deux-Grosnes), classified as a mountain area, is located at the foot of the Beaujolais eminence: Mount Saint-Rigaud. At an altitude of 1,009 metres, the highest point in the Rhône department offers a fantastic view and is a perfect destination for an easy family hike. Climb through the woods of Ajoux, where a Cluniac priory once stood, through the famous Beaujolais Douglas fir trees. The douglas fir observation tower gives you a 360° panorama. The most beautiful spot in the region to capture a sunset on the Beaujolais mountains. Pedestrian, trail and mountain bike circuits.
