Small village typical of the red Beaujolais surrounded by vineyards, but already looking towards the green Beaujolais. Church of the Nativity Saint-Jean-Baptiste of the 17th century, its chapels, as well as a remarkable tree: the Big Chestnut Tree. Classified among the 50 most beautiful trees in France, the chestnut tree is dead, but it would have been planted by the monks of Cluny more than 1000 years ago. Its trunk measures nearly 10 meters in circumference. Hiking enthusiasts enjoy Marchampt and its many hiking trails through woods, vineyards and meadows. The ridge routes on the Beaujolais moors, a protected area, offer magnificent panoramas.
