Located in front of the Mermoz hospital and in a neighbourhood (not far from the Maison de la Danse and the 8 ^th town Hall), which deserves good restaurants, an Asian restaurant was built a few years ago. It's even worse for dishes with much too cooked meat, such as pork, chicken wings without flavours or amazing hazelnut apples, "Asian speciality" that did not even delight children present! A variety of desserts of a quality equal to the rest of the "meal". No, you can't do anything in restoration…

Our article could be in one word: finally. Finally, the district of Monplaisir and the 8 th arrondissement have found a restaurant worthy of this name in this category. After several attempts, the places therefore found their "masters". A young and dynamic team that took over the revenues that worked well at this address: Tuesday of the Gones (child menu offered, animations…), "mussels fishing" at will Wednesday and "flamm'i love you" on Thursday, while changing the map with, as our taste, beautiful sweet hamburgers and generous with good ingredients. Frankly, we cracked for the burger of Monplaisir with his compotée of onions, his bacon, his potato cake and his steak way screwworm, all accompanied by delicious crispy homemade fries like you love them. Very generous plates for all dishes, from the superb hot goat salad in wedding dress to home desserts, by the dishes of mussels and flammekueches. Efficient service on a covered, covered terrace or in a lovely room with light glass and beautiful lighting. Finally an address that gave us pleasure in this beautiful area of Lyon. It is the unmissable meeting point of Place Ambroise-Courtois. Market day or not, you can be at the Industry at any time of the day to enjoy the huge terrace (which is not set up on market days) giving a dolce vita look to this beautiful area, once industrious, which also saw the advent of cinema. If the weather doesn't allow you to sit outside, you can find a well-fitted room where you can feel comfortable, for two people, in a corner, and among friends to share a bench seat. Friendly welcome, efficient service, the industry works daily to receive us well and you quickly become familiar with the place, observing the posters and other objects related to the former industries of the neighbourhood (the factories Calor and then Seb were nearby). When it comes to the cuisine, the dishes are generous and the simple and efficient menu keeps its promises, respecting the flavours of the products prepared. On the menu: A scallop terrine with muscadet, a salmon tartare or a traditional cervelle de canut "comme au mâchon". Salads in two sizes for meal. Coming up next, a home-seasoned tartare cut with a knife, a pièce du boucher, a hot Beaujolais pistachio sausage or a local traditional andouillette with mustard sauce. It's so rare that it deserves to be mentioned, the desserts are homemade, like these seasonal pies or chocolate chips. Not "bright", but an industry that manufactures neighbourhood life and good weather.

What a joy to know that in Lyon a Lion can roar in such a beautiful way. Yes, the Avenue des Frères-Lumière reserves many surprises to whom to take the time to discover it. Among the best surprises discovered by Le Smart this year, the Lyon of the Atlas. Located at an angle on the avenue, offering a pleasant terrace detached from the urban hustle and bustle, this hotel is remarkable in many views. Start with the welcome of Madame, also at the comfort behind the counter, in a cosy room with its colourful lights and decorated walls. Another wonder is the kitchen of a chef trained in the best lyon houses and who only work fresh products. The menu of the day - 2 entrances, meat, always of French origin, and a fish - desserts - with seasonal saison made of high quality - is a model of its kind. We also appreciate the "big entries" with beautiful salad compositions, to follow a plate of mullet filets with citrus agrumes or a Lyon andouillette sauce to old mustard sauce. Features, perfect tajines and a famous "Couscous des Sables", served only on Thursday midday and Evening. A is not lacking under any pretext. An address that can accommodate your family or private events up to 50 people. A coup de coeur du Smart.

Futé has often regretted that the Place Ambroise Courtois is not much frequented during other occasions other than traditional market. A new terrace opening onto the Villa Lumière and a new address offering us a good reason to change our habits and to go on this side of the square to discover the kids (Les Gamins). Let's bear in mind that, during our visit in summer, everything seemed not to be well in their right place yet - especially in the kitchen - but the good will of young people was pleasing to see - especially the service which offered us a glass of cider to compensate a prolonged waiting time. An address to follow, but nice intentions which can be noticed first by the reading of a menu written on school notebook paper displaying many kinds of homemade cakes and pancakes made with good products. On the table of honour, the "best specialities" and recommendations of the Kids, such as this "butter/sugar/lemon" with good salt crystals of a Breton butter. Several ciders, a Breton Saint-Dove beer, an excellent coffee by Voisin and craft café from Pedone. Verdict: can still make progress, but a good start on the right track for the kids who give new lease of life for place a bit sleepy. Cheers!
