At Café du Peintre, it's Florence Périer, one of Lyon's last remaining mothers, in her kitchen where she prepares traditional Lyonnais cuisine based on the finest ingredients. In the chic Brotteaux district, this unusual bouchon is a meeting place for all social classes. Eat and drink well, thanks to Max's marvellous wine list with 1,200 references, from 8:30 a.m. over a mâchon or at lunchtime with a dish of the day, depending on the chef's mood and what's available. Among the must-tries are the homemade terrine and the crispy calf's head with gribiche sauce. A benchmark.

La cave est très fournie, le service est jeune et dynamique, la cuisine est traditionnelle mais très bien faite.
Un peu trop de bruit, et des tables un peu trop rapprochées m'empêchent de donner 5* partout.
