The times are already scary and you want to add to it? If the answer is yes, go to the escape game that really scares. If you want to test your horror skills, welcome to Dark Experience. Two rooms and two stories worthy of a Stephen King novel with Amy, the horror version that will make you jump, and The Creature, the survival version in a world of darkness. All this is strongly advised against sensitive people, because you will become the "hero" of a real horror movie...

In our tiny living room, we really missed this Petit Salon. We even missed this neighborhood nestled along a railroad line in the 7th arrondissement! In this nightlife spot, lovers of electro music, but also lovers of disco in another style, gather in two rooms with totally different decorations. One room is high-tech and contemporary, with images that punctuate the music. The other is decorated in the Empire style. A highly specialized program featuring the crème de la crème of DJs and musicians. Le Petit Salon also hosts exhibitions.

1 review

Saint-Paul isn't the only place to take the train. You can also enjoy a good glass of wine and travel through the terroirs of France and the world. La Cave des Voyageurs opened its doors opposite Vieux Lyon station over 25 years ago. This makes it Lyon's oldest wine bar. It's a Lyonnais address at heart, where you need to take your time to enjoy your meal. Superb selection. Emotionally-charged bottles and prices to match. To keep your spirits up and extend the evening, the charcuterie and cheese platters do the trick. Follow the tasting program to make sure you don't miss out on any of the Cave's destinations.

It takes in the glass containing hot water and then after infusion, it opens into corolla and gives a delicate scent. In the heart of the Pentes, Le Bec de Jazz seems out of time with its Bird style club atmosphere. The walls are covered with the gigantic paintings of the owner. Tchangodei sometimes lets his fingers run over the piano to treat the regulars to his compositions. Unjustly unknown jazzman, this Beninese by origin and Lyonnais by adoption, has participated in about twenty albums. In his establishment, of which you have to become a symbolically contributing member, the hours don't count and you come out in the early morning, drunk with music and fresh (or almost) as a rose.

In your turn, let yourself be lulled by the beauty of this place where you immediately feel comfortable and happy to share delightful moments on a large table within a decor displaying soft colours. A friendly and charming team serves all the seasonal homemade delicacies. Of course, there are teas, more than twenty, made by Comptoir Français du Thé to kick off the day or during tea time. Breakfast, lunch with hot toast, -such as this summer aubergine with goat cheese, another salmon or one with Lyon sausage-, cold toasts -chicken, raw vegetable, Chorizo peppers…- tasty dishes -salmon or duck- and salads, not to forget the soups in winter and all the small cakes to enjoy at any time. The Star Ferry, a tribute to a ferry sailing on the side of Hong Kong. On Quais du Rhône, the Star Ferry is typically a seasonal address, opening with the sun, closing with the first cold and big storms in summer. From the very first sunny days, beer flows like water in what it's agreed to call a beer garden, with a choice of 80 bottled beers and no less than 12 draught ones! A mandatory terrace to sit and enjoy the homemade specialty, burgers. Sandwiches that are themed, even exotic, composed of honourable ingredients, but with meat always overcooked to our taste. Although the fries are crispy to eat, chewing the burger can be complicated. Come on, take a beer to get it through… No desserts, except ice-creams. At the end of the day, the burger/beer comes back at about twenty euros, for a hardly adequate quality and a service that is extended (it's not easy to satisfy the desires of the entire terrace on a summer evening) but remains smiling. A half-tone address that allows you to spend pleasant moments on the banks of the Rhône.

According to our French taste, Starbucks does not always offer the "best coffee in the world" and we will stubbornly continue to defend the "Café Comptoir", the "little black" in the morning with the unequalled taste when shared with friends. Because can we really share in Wi-Fi mode behind your laptop, even on a comfortable seat? It's up to you. For the rest, it's possible to fall for the craft coffees that you can personalize by adding some "extras" which also incur some additional charges. Futé must admit a weak for the Macchiato Caramel for the long winter days. In summer, we are tempted by the Frappuccino collection with always the possibility to personalize our cold drink. The other reason for falling is the by-products, especially, the famous Lyonese tumbler.

In a vast converted hangar, 30 bowling lanes are available for strikes with the whole family - from 3 years upwards - or with friends. The billiards area is almost as large, with 17 tables for friends to play on. Not to mention a number of video games for a different kind of thrill, and a bar for a break. The BIG WHITE is a bar with a totally redesigned, original and dynamic concept. It's located in Vieux Lyon, on the corner of the famous Place du Change. Class and chic are the order of the day in this establishment, far from the "student" image one might have feared. The bar offers a wide choice of draught beers, world beers, cocktails, shooters... But the BIG WHITE is also a place to relax over a coffee, a glass of wine or a selection of plates, with happy hours from 5pm to 9pm.

GNOME ET RHÔNE

Lyon-style art de vivre to get us through the day. Saxe goes to Gnome et Rhône, which used to be an aircraft engine brand before manufacturing motorcycles in Lyon. Mechanical enthusiasts and everyone else head for Gnome et Rhône, a 100% Lyonnaise address created some thirty years ago. Part pub, part bar, this French-style café has a terrace overlooking the avenue, a bar and air-conditioned rooms with a quirky atmosphere, just like this cabinet of curiosities. Good beers, but not only, with a cuisine more refined than you might think. Blind-test evenings, DJs, match broadcasts on giant screens. Take off your couch for this "Saxy" address.

Closed - Open to 19h00

A Grisbi that touched us with its velvety paw. A place beautifully inspired by the speakeasies of the American Prohibition era, yet with an elegant French touch. Lovely welcome and service from a team of professional cocktail specialists. In this universe blending cinema, music (excellent by the way), architecture and interior design, we keep coming back to taste the 4 seasonal menus and enjoy the perfect cocktail to suit our mood. A must-try is "le digeo gourmand", a homemade pastry accompanied by a top-of-the-range digestif. Cocktail classes and mixology workshops, spirits tasting evenings. A Grisbi is also available for private hire.
