One of the reference addresses of the city, not only in the "brasserie" category but also simply restaurant, since Silk is much more than a brewery in our opinion. Built in the luxurious Sofitel hotel, Silk benefits from the tranquillity of the places, yet only steps from Place Bellecour and the hyper-centre of the peninsula. A both classic and completely atypical place with its decor that immerses us in the universe "vintage" of the 70s to the brilliant colours on a neutral background and in the universe of silk (which gives the name to the establishment). Between chic bistro, elegant brasserie and elegant restaurant, Silk is for everyone and not only the 5-star hotel high profile clientele. Best-in-class, refined and convivial service, beautiful home which is really hospitable, and a high quality cuisine which also fluctuates between the brasserie tradition with oysters, a Lyon salad, a famous 100% beef tartare, homemade burgers, one of which is truffle or a fresh salmon tartar, and the nice food service with roasted cod fillet, delicious roasted scallops or a rack of lamb and its pan-fried seasonal vegetables. Mother Richard cheese and a vanilla brioche with speculoos ice-cream. Other must-eat of the house: the omelet as you want it and the terrible chicken Sandwich Club. Beautiful wine list, grand crus, for a harmonious wine and meal pairing.

A place to which Les Lyonnais does not pay enough attention and which is still a boon for people arriving in Lyon by Gare de Perrache on a place Carnot. A space that opens in the area of Carnot with a superb terrace and on Victor Hugo Street in the direction of Bellecour. A space that has taken another dimension since the chef Roger Jealous, one of the Best Workers in France who spent a few years alongside a certain Paul Bocuse, took over the orders of the house. Just sit down at the beautiful shaded terrace or discover the warm decor recently redone, playing with the transparencies and light, composed by the architect Florent Egasse. Quality cuisine by a chef Blanches White Lyon who delivers his version of lyon specialities: poached eggs in meurette, bowl of homemade foie foie, forest brochet sauce American sauce. Side card, gras gras steak, fruity sauce, well-composed salads, excellent XL tartare, home hamburger, salmon tartar, to finish with snow eggs, terrible waffles or delicious chocolate and its vanilla ice. The harmony of wines is a warm place where there are no hours, or almost, to find among friends. Friendly and informal, at the same time as wine bar - with no fewer than 350 references - and restaurant, the Harmony des Vins is the perfect place to stay. The presence of the apparent stones only reinforces the authenticity of the place, and the councils of these wine cellars are best advised. On-site, you can accompany the precious beverage of cheese or cold meats or even more elaborate dishes such as the delicious spices of lamb lamb or the pennes of pistou and shrimps, not forgetting the ravioles, the speciality of the house. Workers, workers (please do not remind anyone?) and all those who wish to make a nice meal in this semi-pedestrian area between Guichard Square and Les Halles Paul Bocuse, here is a brewery that has taken our attention this year. A nice terrace with large umbrellas in a pleasant passage, wine cellar behind the counter and room with the current tones to offer us a map ready to satisfy all appetites, especially those - and they are many - lovers of tartars. La Brasserie de la Bourse offers the only "tartare bar" of the city with a dozen tartars on the menu. Quality meat for a tartar cut to the knife to savour according to its style: Lyonnais, Italian, Spicy, Japanese, Thai, Fresca (grapefruit, cucumber, green apple, dill, shallot and lemon juice: excellent), Tropical, Asian, South or Indian. There is even a tasting plate to taste a maximum. Salads, traditional dishes of brasserie (frites fries, chef of the chef) and more original dishes (magret of cherry cherry duck, bream filet, candied lemon, vinegar of raspberry) to the desserts with a carrot tartar and ginger, lemon foam, nougatine to the coriander seed. The least we can write is that if this restaurant is not still unanimously appreciated, it has rectified its situation since our last not very rave reviews. Setting did not change and steps from Musée d'Art Moderne, the room is modern in white and red tone to highlight fluid forms, including this staircase leading to the mezzanine. The terrace overlooking the amphitheatre, sheltered by large parasols, offers a pleasant refuge. The point of improvement is both services, more responsive and friendly at the time of our visit, and the cuisine that will never be that of Mathieu Viannay, Christophe Marguin or Frédéric Berthod, three chefs combined in the business, but a good cuisine in a brasserie way with some gourmet refinement as extra. On an well-stuffed menu, a Marmande tomato tartare served with a half ball of real di bufalo mozzarella, pesto and condiments, a whole grilled fish according to the arrival, lobster salad, risotto worthy of this name or a roast veal sweetbreads in casserole, before enjoying the famous creamy chocolate fondant. The Left Bank is a peaceful island in a green park, Gerland Park, probably the most beautiful terrace in Lyon and one of the most pleasant in warm summer hours. At the end of the beautiful footbridge facing the law courts, benefiting from a new terrace on Quai de Saone, Buvette Saint-Antoine is not really a recent address, since it has been the "Lyon inhabitants' meeting place" since 1872! Yes, but, it's a place which we have abandoned in favour of the new banks of the Rhone which offer a more pleasant setting all the same, let's admit it. As time goes by, the banks of Saône was restored at the same time as this famous Bar which has found a new lease of life. On summer evenings, open-air café atmosphere with music and well-served seafood, but still pleasant snacks with salads which are largely worth others, ideal boards to accompany an aperitif, like this whole sausage or toasted spread available according to all the desires, without forgetting the ice-creams and the beautiful drink menu and a wide range of champagne. There are many "all inclusive" package to enjoy on the Quai de Saône within a very nice atmosphere.

Contrast between the beauty of the places and the mediocrity of the offered catering services is impressive. And, we do not talk about the deplorable reception, impolite service... And yet, Café du Pond is still part of the Lyon's addresses where you go with much or less happiness according to your good fortune. Sign of gratitude, the sport scar that you let idling in front of the entrance, before going to park it in the underground car park of the place. See no kind of jealousy on our part, we like beautiful things. But when most of the place de Lyautey seems to be privatized only for the pleasure of some drinkers of luxury rosé, it bothers us! Eating is delicate and the "fresh" in seasonal menu are only of the name: Caprese salad, Terrace du Pond burger, cod loin. What is more annoying is the bad reception they reserve for those who are not regulars, until they realize that they are not welcome or ignoring them... In short, an address to avoid, even in dream location!

How to expect a Better situation for a lunch break, a refreshing break in the heart of the city? At the foot of the Slopes, in the "Shopping" area, the Brasserie des 3 Rivières extends its magnificent terrace in the Place des Breeding. Between two columns of Buren, we sit under the huge parasols for a pure moment of pleasure and discover that Lyon is happy to take a holiday. If the sun is not part of the game, there is refuge in a room that opens in the evening on several universes. At the bottom it is an electro-detached abbey, on the floor is salsa in the Casa Latina. Two environments that allow you to prolong dinner. But come back to our terrace to choose, thanks to an efficient service, a salad made of hot goat, Serrano ham or a generous nice salad. Other possibilities, frites moules molds for only 9 € or a beautiful tender tender and its sauce. A simple, but made kitchen. A pleasant way to enjoy Lyon and, at weekends, choose its atmosphere to continue the evening.

Known for a long time in the old Charlemagne district (becoming since then the new Confluence district), the Midi Minuit brasserie was set up in the heart of the Presqu'île (the peninsula), Rue de la République, two years ago. And that's why, one Sunday of balances opening, your favourite Petit Futé was sitting at a brasserie, one of the very few restaurants open in the sector with so wide opening hours! First good point, Midi Minuit has kept a large part of the superb decoration of the place by tastefully vegetating it. In addition, a small terrace sheltered from the passageway as a bonus. As for the service, we felt the intent to do well, some degree of efficiency and the attempts to smile behind a stained blouse, but let's say there is still room for improvement. The most amazing thing is undoubtedly the cuisine. A true short menu (problem, more salmon steak…) and dishes home cooked by a chef who holds up. Some snacks and flammekueches (that could be avoided), giant salads, but above all a lamb shoulder confit in its pearl juice, a duck breast and fig chips or a royal sea bream fillet in almond crumble. All is done at honest rates. Desserts slightly lower for the quality and slightly higher for the rates (a floating island with citruses a little bit tough at €7). In a nutshell, the address of République has pleasantly surprised us, even though some adjustments still need to be made.

Everybody needs to go to the Powder Room, "place of friendly interest". At La Croix-Rousse, a pretty Little Corner with a very successful decoration opening its terrace towards a large quiet place. A Little Corner which welcomes us in all conviviality all day long, from breakfast to snacks, including seasonal slate and boards to share in the evenings. Butcher's Piece, beef and salmon tartars, but also vegetal. Everyone is delighted, enjoying a warm welcome and friendly service. Petanque balls at your disposal!
