Lachassagne belonged initially to the barons of Oingt, vassals of the counts of Forez. In 1662, Lachassagne passed into the hands of Pierre Dassier, squire, adviser and secretary to the king. By letters patent of Louis XIV, he obtained the creation of a4th fair in Lachassagne, which was erected in barony. The lands of Lachassagne were handed down from generation to generation to the descendants of Pierre d'Assier. Today, in Lachassagne, you can see the Clos du Château, 62 hectares enclosed by walls, open six weekends during the summer, the church of Saint-Pierre with its Christmas crib at the end of the year, and take advantage of the walking and mountain bike trails in the village and around.
