The pretty medieval village of Châtillon commands the entrance to the Azergues valley. Its castle, mentioned as early as the 11th century, was endowed with an impressive cylindrical keep of 30 m height in the 12th century and was further enlarged and embellished in the 15th century. It cannot be visited. The narrow streets climb between the houses, sometimes connected by stairs. The Romanesque chapel of Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Secours is worth a visit. It has two superimposed naves, the first of which dates from the 11th century, and a flamboyant Gothic portal. It also houses the tomb of Geoffroy de Balzac, husband of Claude Le Viste, probably Lady of the Unicorn.
