Just like Bouthéon-Bouthéon, just a few kilometres away, Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert is composed of two municipalities that merged in 1973. It is a bridge, built above the Loire, which makes the junction between the two cities. On the right bank stands Saint-Just, modern, with beautiful houses overlooking the river. On the other hand, Saint-Rambert has an ancient history. It was built around a priory founded by monks of Barbe Island Abbey in the th century. The priory has been preserved and is now home to the Museum of Civilizations. A stone's throw from there is the majestic church Saint-André. Originally dated from the th century, it has two clochers and has a tower tower, which is necessary for defence. By continuing your path, you fall on Saint John Chapel, which was the first church in the village. It served the faithful until the church Saint-André was built. The «Franchise Gate», located at the beginning of Montchal Street, is the only way to access the city in the priory of the priory, where the old narrow streets invite to stroll. Desimiane Street, Occiacum, Du, the Impasse-des-Fours and the rue Colombet-Solle, the many semi-timbered houses and paved pavements, evoke a rich past.
