What a funny name! This is the first thought one has when discovering the existence of Saint-Julien-Molin-Molette. A village known for its many high-quality craftsmen, preserving the good taste of the good things of yesteryear, and artists who have come here to find refuge. The village owes its name to Saint Julien (martyr of Brioude), then to the water mills (molin), and finally to the "molettes", small millstones used to sharpen the white blades. The village developed with the rise of natural silk weaving, seeing the opening of numerous factories and mills, now rehabilitated as artists' or craftsmen's workshops.
