DOMAINE SEROL
Domaine Robert Sérol comprises 21 hectares of vines aged from 5 to 80 years. Stéphane Sérol produces nine reds (AOC Côte roannaise) and three rosés, each revealing a different Gamay personality. He shares his passion for the Côte roannaise with the Troisgros family, selecting each year a cuvée from old vines: the Cuvée Troisgros du vignoble des Blondins. The other red cuvées are Les Originelles, produced by Robert Sérol in his early days and expressing all the fruit of the Gamay grape with a lovely roundness; Les Vieilles Vignes, the domaine's benchmark cuvée; Les Millerands, a cuvée made from a selection of small-grained grapes called millerands, giving a mineral, concentrated wine; as well as the cuvées Oudan, L'Incorruptible, Les Estinaudes, Les Murons and La Croix Saint-Paul. Our rosés include: Cuvée Cabochard (AOC Côte roannaise), a dry rosé in keeping with the estate's tradition; Cuvée Enjôleur (Vin de Pays d'Urfé), a sweet rosé produced by partial fermentation, giving it a smooth roundness; and Cuvée Turbullent, an effervescent rosé produced using ancestral methods, with a strength of just 6.5%. Cuvée De Butte en Blanc is a dry white Vin de Pays d'Urfé made from Viognier grapes planted on a steep, south-facing granite hillside. A tasting weekend in mid-December is an opportunity to taste the year's wines, share a convivial moment with friends, and listen to a bit of jazz on Saturday evening!
