NÉEL CHOCOLATIER
Read moreIn the Neel family, chocolate is a family affair. Grandson and son of a renowned local pastry and chocolate maker, Philippe Néel grew up amidst the fragrances and the swarming atmosphere of the famous boutique in Montbrison. Half self-taught, trained by his father, his cake and chocolate shop is one of the favourite addresses for gourmets. Its cleverly decorated shop windows are well worth a visit. There are family creations on display: grandfather's Nono praline tart, or father's orange Alcazar tart and his original works such as the chocolate pumps that you dream of giving to your girlfriend. The avowed aim: to make you crunch while you eat!
REMINISANS
Read moreBiscuiterie RéminiSans takes this name to reflect the two aspects of its concept: re-establishing the pleasure of eating without restriction, inspired by Proust's famous madeleine, and the term "sans" underlines the absence of gluten and other ingredients such as dairy products, eggs, nuts... La Biscuiterie offers very healthy products: bread, banana breads, cookies and other sweets. RéminiSans will pass on its values through cooking classes, which will be organized in 2024.
MAISON POUILLY
Read moreBaker, caterer, tea room: the Maison Pouilly plays several cards, each time with a concern for excellence. Some pastry creations can be contemplated before being tasted, such as this trilogy of bonsai biscuits mixing sponge cake and chocolate in an impressively balanced composition. The savoury menu offers a few specialities that change every day, and is enriched during the festive season. The House of Pouilly also offers its chocolates. A very nice address in Montbrison, with a high quality bread - David Pouilly won, a few years ago, the prize for the best Loire-Rhône baguette, for his shop in Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert.
