The Théâtre des Pénitents is located in the city centre, on the site of the former Chapelle des Pénitents. Renovated in 2003, this 230-seat theatre, classified as a Historic Monument, hosts many shows with a focus on music, theatre and circus arts. It is also a space of expression for the city's many cultural associations. More recently, the Théâtre des Pénitents has obtained regional recognition with the Scène Rhône-Alpes label.
