Coming from the Pelussinois, we discover this jewel of medieval architecture embedded in the rock, a village where legends still reign. Malleval, the "bad valley", because of the numerous brigands in the surroundings. This former stronghold of the Counts of Forez kept one of the accesses to Pilat, the Pélussin plateau and the Bourg-Argental region. Destroyed during the Wars of Religion in 1574, Malleval has preserved houses with mullioned windows, a salt loft and a small castle. The 22 km long flora trail leads to the Bessat towards the heathers of the Crêt de la Perdrix. Your steps will lead you to the waterfall of the "saut de Laurette".
