On the east side of the Pilat, discover the charming village of Chapelle-Villars. The village was founded in 1793 and owes its name to Hugues de La Chapelle, which was a fief on the heights of Condrieu. The «Villars» particle will come later to prevent the mail from disappearing in other French communes also called «La Chapelle». Two sites may focus attention: the Sainte-Marguerite Chapel, 2 km from the town, following the route of Mont Monnet, of Romanesque style was built in the th century, burnt and then partially destroyed in the th century. The castle of Villars, property of Henri III, was built from a house in the th century. Claude de Villars, a châtelain de Condrieu, obtained from the king the permission to build from his residence, towers, a drawbridge and fortifications.
