At the foot of Pilat, on the banks of the Rhône, bordered by hillsides planted with vines of great wines (Condrieu and Saint-Joseph), Chavanay is a charming village that stretches along the D1086. Stroll through the medieval streets of this small village to take a look at the towers, the old disused mill whose furniture is still visible, without forgetting the 17th century church recently restored. Also worth seeing: the Calvary chapel (17th-18th centuries), located on the via Gebennensis, the path that leads to Santiago de Compostela from Geneva, and the Madonna d'Izeras, 17 m high, overlooking a magnificent panorama.
