At the foot of Pilat, on the banks of the Rhône, bordered by hillsides planted with grand cru vines (condrieu and saint-joseph), Chavanay is a charming village along the D1086. Stroll through the medieval alleys of this small town to take a look at the towers, the old disused mill whose furniture is still visible, not forgetting the recently restored 17th century church. Also worth seeing: the Calvary Chapel (17th-18th centuries), located on the road to Santiago de Compostela, and the Madonna of Izeras, 17 m high and overlooking a magnificent panorama.
