A village of 350 inhabitants perched at an altitude of 900 metres, Burdignes extends from 500 metres above sea level for the La Gare district on the outskirts of Bourg Argental to 1,381 metres for the highest point of Pyfarat in the heart of the Taillard forest. Bordering the Ardèche and Haute-Loire rivers, Burdignes is part of the Communauté de Communes des Monts du Pilat. It is one of the gateways (from the Ardèche) to the Pilat Regional Natural Park.
