Two communes with the same name are located here on either side of the departments of Isère and Savoie. We differentiate Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont in Isère (600 inhabitants) from Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont in Savoie (450 inhabitants). Both are the starting point of many hikes to the heights of the Chartreuse. One should not miss the visit of the ruins of the castle of Montbel, which stands on a promontory above two villages. This listed site was the seat of the lords of Montbel who ruled for several centuries on the Entre-deux-Guiers, they are at the origin of the separation between the Dauphiné and Savoie.
