Set in a green setting, looking out over the peaks of Puy Mary, the castle of Auzers will surprise you with its false austerity. Property of the Douhet family since the 15th century, it was entirely rebuilt in 1510 with the main building flanked by three massive towers. An Auvergne style, polychrome frescoes from the 16th century, documents from King Louis XVI, Empire furniture donated by the emperor himself... The visit is a real plunge into the history of France through this castle and the ancestors of the current owners.

Opening time and information on AUZERS CASTLE

High season: open every day and on public holidays from 2pm to 6:30pm. From Easter to June 30th and from September 1st to All Saints' Day: Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday from 3 to 6 pm. By appointment all year round. Free for children under 7 years old. Adults: 8 €. Children (from 7 to 14 years old): 3 €. Group (10 people): 5 €. Credit card not accepted. Holiday vouchers. Catering (for groups: day package with meal on request). Hiring of the rooms or the castle for a private day or evening.

bel endroit situé dans un petit village sur un promontoire, le château est de toute beauté avec un joli parc et une vue sur la vallée, magique!. Nous étions 4 pour visiter ce lieu, la guide nous a présenté son joyau de belle manière, avec des pointes humoristique et avec une connaissance très approfondie de son château. Son extérieur style château fort intéressant et ses pièce intérieures magnifiquement meublées avec il est vrai de nombreux souvenirs de la famille qui l'habite encore. De superbes pièces à visiter et une salle basse cuisine géante, à noter la chapelle avec ses peintures murales. Un cheminement de visite parfait, et une découverte continuelle, cela paye par la qualité de la guide aussi. Lieu à découvrir et à faire connaître.
