Ally, 10 km south of Mauriac, is a village of 600 inhabitants at the crossroads of the D680 and D681. The village boasts the Château de la Vigne, a remarkably well-preserved 15th century building, where Jean-Jacques Rousseau stayed for a few months in 1767. Sold at the end of the 19th century, its lands were reduced or enlarged according to the period. Closer to our time, the castle became the property of Robert Jégou in 1942. The latter made his property a shelter for many Jewish children from 1942 to 1945. In 1950, the castle passed into the hands of another family. Its descendants still occupy it today and welcome visitors
