This charming village, which belongs to the Community of Communes of the Balcons du Dauphiné, includes four other villages spread out between the plain and the limestone plateau and united by superb cliffs overlooking the Rhône: Hières-sur-Amby, Verna, Parmilieu and Saint-Baudille de la Tour. This territory has long been famous for its natural and patrimonial wealth: the Grottes de la Balme which represent a synthesis of caves in France with its galleries, its underground lake, its large rooms... and which are located near a natural site classified as a Sensitive Natural Area Les Coteaux du Roch; the archeological site of Larina and the Museum-House of Heritage which propose the history of the Balcons du Dauphiné and more widely of the Isle-Crémieu since Roman Antiquity thanks to a precious collection. These three important sites are not the only attractions of the Balcons du Dauphiné. The limestone cliffs and the breathtaking viewpoints they offer over the Rhone valley, the rich and preserved fauna and flora (bats, peregrine falcons, orchids...), the Château du Cingle, the traditional architecture, the Sentier des Bigues... So many sites to discover that deserve a stopover. The most courageous will leave on the hiking trails taking advantage of a very well marked network.
