This vast commune in the upper Arve valley is made up of numerous hamlets in the foothills of the Chablais massif. Between the 500 meters of the banks of the Arve and the 2,700 meters of the Fiz mountain range, the landscape with its undeniable natural assets creates a setting that is conducive to tourism development. The Plateau d'Assy has been known since the 19th century for its pure air, which led to the presence of sanatoriums in the 1920s, and it remains a popular convalescent center today. The ski area of Passy Plaine-Joux offers a perfect site for beginners and becomes a paragliding site in the summer. Hiking trails in the Passy National Nature Reserve, dominated by the Fiz cliffs, lead naturally to the Aiguilles Rouges National Nature Reserve. If you are a hiking enthusiast, you can go on an adventure by walking around the Fiz, depending on your level and your desires, it will take you between 2 to 7 days of walking. You can easily organize your stay on the Passy Mont-Blanc website, with the available refuges, advices and itineraries. This natural heritage has inspired many artists. Modern art first, represented by the Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce church, built in the 20th century, in addition to the baroque Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul church; then contemporary art, with the "sculpture route", 15 km between Passy and the Plaine-Joux domain, contemporary sculptures by the greatest masters such as Albert Féraud, Alexander Calder, Charles Semser... A museum of modern art in the middle of nature!
