Menthon-Saint-Bernard (1,800 inhabitants) is one of the most important villages on the eastern shore of Lake Annecy. Located 8 km south of Annecy, the village is separated into two parts by the D909A which crosses it in its center. The upper part joins the castle of Menthon-Saint-Bernard, dominated to the east by the ridge of the Dents de Lanfon (alt. 1,824 m) and the north by Mount Baret (alt. 1,243 m). The lower part extends gently down to the lake. It is good to follow its shoreline by strolling along the Philibert d'Orlye promenade, between the beach road and the Palace de Menthon. Numerous pontoons allow bathers to enjoy the crystal clear waters.
