ASSOCIATION ET OBSERVATOIRE MONT D'ARBOIS ASTRONOMIE
Passing through Megève, you may be surprised by the presence of a building associated with a dome, close to the summit of the Mont d 'Arbois (1,840 m), on Saint-Gervais-les-Bains commune: This is the observatory of the Mont d 'Arbois! In summer, it is easily marked along the Route des Crêtes, while in winter it is located in some ski slopes… The observatory was created under the impetus of Gérard Morand, Mayor of Megève from 1977 to 2008, and Baroness Edmond de Rothschild. It enjoys a quite exceptional location because of its altitude, its location at the top of the slopes and its high quality sky. It also integrates a planetarium. Open houses are offered, as well as initiations to discover the sky of day (Sun) and night. To do this, the calendar of events programmed throughout the year should be filled on the association's website. You can also contact the tourist office of Megève.
