A real balcony overlooking Lake Annecy! At an altitude of 500 metres, the village of Lathuile seduces by its tranquility, its environment and its panorama. In the heart of the Bauges Regional Nature Park, on the south-eastern slopes of the Taillefer, Lathuile is the perfect example of an agricultural village converted into residential tourism, between the summer "abundance" of the shores of Lake Annecy and the calm of the alpine countryside. Between lake and mountain, at the bend of the forest roads, you can enjoy the splendid views of La Tournette, Les Dents de Lanfon, le crêt des Mouches, l'Arcalod, le Parmelan... The village is also very marked by the passage of François de Sales - it is in one of the chapels of his parish church of Saint-Ours that he received the tonsure during his ordination -, and his family - his father, the Marquis de Sales - became the owner of a fortified house there in 1560, before taking possession of the Château de Thorens. In this relaxing site, it is pleasant to follow the botanical or walking paths to the hamlet of Saury and the abandoned lignite mine, to the Bornette pass.... Canyoning and paragliding are practiced there - Taillefer take-off site. Its former station, which has been renovated as a bicycle rest area, is one of the highlights of the Annecy-Albertville Green Lane. It also hosts one of the cabins selected for the Cabanes festival - from July to October. Lathuile belongs to the community of communes of the Sources du Lac, in the Faverges region.
