Internationally renowned baroque music ensembles perform for 10 days in the most beautiful baroque monuments of the Mont Blanc region. A baroque art that multiplies perceptions tenfold! Baroque as the style of local architecture of the 17th century, of which the Mont-Blanc region has the most beautiful examples in Haute-Savoie. Many churches were indeed built, remodelled and restored according to this artistic movement originating from Italy and resulting from the Counter-Reformation which invaded Savoy at the time. A style characterized by its rich decorative ornaments in architecture and a clever and sophisticated style in music. Created in 1997 in Cordon, the Baroque Festival has gradually spread to a dozen participating villages. Every year, music seizes the baroque monuments, mainly the village churches, Chamonix, Combloux, Contamines-Montjoie, Cordon, Megève, Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, Sallanches, Servoz... We then have the privilege of attending concerts in exceptional sites. A visual and musical immersion!
