However, Clermont-en-Genevois, which is its full name, deserves to appear in our guide to the Alps, because the commune is home to a magnificent Renaissance castle, unique in the entire region. The castle of Clermont, built by Gallois Regard from 1575, offers a precious testimony of the influence of the Italian Renaissance on the Savoyard architecture.
