This marathon is not for just any runner. With only 4 supply points (instead of 8) and only 1 water point, you have to seriously hang on! Stage of the National Trail Running Cup Salomon-Endurance Shop, the trophy for top athletes, this course is often described as "inhumane" by the runners just arrived. Inhumane... not so much, since 51 nationalities meet each other every year.

The course

After finishing a marathon, words like "it's inhuman", "never again" frequently come out of the runners' mouths. However, never tired of racking up the miles, some people are looking for another level of difficulty as time and experience go by.
This is what the Mont Blanc Marathon, a 42.195 km long mountain cross-country race, with a recent 1 km vertical section, offers. This is a race for thrill-seekers, dominated by Mont Blanc with a plunging view of the Chamonix valley. Each year, around 2,000 riders from 51 different countries are expected to line up at the start line. However, this event is not open to everyone. With 2,511 metres of positive height difference, the Mont Blanc Marathon is for experienced runners.
Moreover, to get even closer to the spirit of the trail, only 4 complete refreshment stations are offered instead of 8 on the classic marathons and only one water point. For the last 8 years, the Mont Blanc Marathon has been a stage of the National Trail Running Cup Salomon-Endurance Shop, a trophy that offers a wide variety of race formats ranging from ultra, to mountain and urban areas
