9 km from Buis-les-Baronnies, by a narrow road that winds between vineyards, lavender and apricot fields, Vercoiran is a very old charming village on a site occupied by man since the Neolithic period, as shown by the many fragments of pseudo-ionic ceramics unearthed on the spot. On the edge of a small plateau overlooking the Ouvèze gorges, Vercoiran is now a perched village that deserves a stop. Placed at the foot of a high rocky cliff on which stands a stone chapel, the village clings to the slope of a hill. By following the "old village" sign, you reach by a stony path a village centre restored by neo-rurals in love with old stones. Former sheepfolds have been transformed into charming residences. The charming alleys open onto inner courtyards shaded by fig trees and wild cherry trees, with a miniature garden and a view of the Ouvèze valley and its lavender fields. Gîte and guest rooms
