At the foot of its hill topped by a watchtower, on the Mercurol side, Mercurol-Veaunes, is a young rural commune of the Drôme hills, which has less than 3,000 inhabitants and was founded in January 2016, when the former commune Mercurol and the delegated commune of Veauves were brought together. Its chief town is set in the village of Mercurol. It is a peaceful and preserved site. Enjoy the hike of the Heights of Mercurol, an easy hike through the hills of the town and its orchards that offers beautiful views over the valley of Tain l'Hermitage, Chanos Curson and the castle of Conflans, all dominated at the foot of the tower of Mercurol.
