Perched at an altitude of 1,000 m, Vassieux occupies a marvellous plateau bordered on the east by the barrier of the Vercors highlands. To the west, the Gagères ridge dominates the village, dropping down to the Chau pass which gives access to the Font-d'Urle resort and the Lente forest. The site was known since the Neolithic period. A flintknapping workshop has been uncovered, which has given rise to an interesting museum-workshop. Today, a mountain economy still exists, based on forestry and quality cattle and sheep breeding. For a stay of soft tourism. You can also come here for the Resistance Memorial.
