One is struck by the beauty and power of the feudal castle built on its rock overlooking the village, now known as the home of the University of Wine. The priory, of which a magnificent Romanesque church remains, is the other element from which the village was built. We can still distinguish its medieval part with the remains of the ramparts from the part that owes more to the Renaissance and which houses the beautiful 17th century corn exchange. The Association for the protection of the heritage and the environment of Suze-la-Rousse has been working for a long time to protect and enhance this charming village.
